PE and Sports Premium Funding

The government is continuing to provide additional funding to improve the provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools.  This funding is provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport.

For the academic year 2017-18 this funding has been increased to £16,000 plus £10 per child over the age of 5.

The motto at St. Nicholas Primary School that underpins our aim to encourage children to engage in an active lifestyle is: 'more children active more of the time'.  This extra funding enables us to do this by being able to offer a greater range of sports opportunities for participation and competition and specialist PE coaching for more children as well as additional equipment.
