Our School Day

The school day starts at 8.45am and finishes at 3.15pm.  Registration is at 8.45 a.m.

At 9.00am, children take part in 'Fit Nic', a short, daily activity session which is led by our Y6 Sport Leaders.

Our daily worship takes place straight after lunch on Monday (whole school assembly led by the Head teacher), Tuesday (class assemblies), Thursday (singing assembly) and Friday (Celebration Assembly led by Year 6 School Ambassadors).  On Wednesday we are very fortunate to have our local Open The Book Group visit for our whole school worship at 9:00 a.m.

Children in Willow and Thorn Classes have a morning break from 10.30am – 10.45am and children in Holly Class have continuous provision through the morning which includes their snack time and have an additional breaktime in the afternoon.

Lunchtime is 12:00 until 1:00 pm.

At the beginning and end of the school day, parents are encouraged into the playground. This helps to build up a close relationship between home and school – we want to have good links with all parents.  If normal arrangements have to be altered (eg you are delayed or another person is collecting your child), please let us know via the School Office.  This avoids any confusion or upset.

To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. Alternatively, we have bike-racks which we encourage you to use and ask that you lock any bikes or scooters while they are kept there for safety. If you do need to travel by car, please park in the village carparks at the Greyhound or the Social Centre.

Bikeability, Scooter skills and Walksafe are available to various year groups during the year to support children in developing their road safety skills.
