Welcome to the Willow Class page. We are a mixed year 3 and 4 class. Here you will find key information about the class over the next year.   If you have any questions please come and speak to me at school - I am always happy to talk.

 

Maths

  • Times Tables Rockstars
    Learning your times tables benefits all areas of maths. Make sure you complete some studio games on a regular basis.

  • By the end of Year 4 all pupils are expected to know the times tables up to 12 x 12 and be able to recall these accurately and fluently.  In Year 5 and 6 we will continue to consolidate this knowledge and maintain fluency.  We will focus on a different times table each week in school.  Please encourage learning at home either through Times Tables Rockstars or other methods.

English

Reading - some children will be reading ULS books that are fully decodable. Children will know the sounds contained in the book they are given and will confident to read it most fluently. Others will have moved onto the next stage, with books that are appropriate for their current level. This is supported by reading the book 3-4 times per week at home.  We are excited about using our new reading records and would love it if you can read with your child every day and write in the record.  Please add any other books that you enjoy reading together.

Rollama

This is a website that helps pupils with Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar.  Pupils will have access to this at school but logins will also be sent home for any pupils who wish to use the site outside of school.
