  • Active maths and literacy

    As a school we are trying to increase the amount of physical activity children have in their days which is based on research about activity and health together with learning through physical activity.  Mrs Kitts attended two day courses run by the Youth Sport Trust on Active Maths and Active Literacy to kick start the initiative.  Staff have started including more physically active ways of learning maths and literacy skills within our lessons.
  • Woodland Wanderers

    Every class is now able to have Outdoor Learning as part of their regular timetable, every other week.

    Willow Class have been looking at Winnie The Pooh; setting traps and building Pooh a new shelter. They have also met Charlie the Boarder Collie who will be joining their class this year.

    Holly Class are looking at Autumn and how our world around us is changing in preparation for Winter.

    Thorn Class have been doing a variety of things - building hedgehog houses and ramps for ponds; looking for signs of Autumn as well as spotting Shaun The sheep - as he grows up - and a nature photo hunt - accompanied by Jake and Sasha as usual.

     

    Please do ask if you would like to join your child in their sessions, the more the merrier!
